Instead of focusing on attracting more people to the mall during peak hours, the New Retail model seeks to offer additional reasons for visitors to stay longer within the complex, providing mixed-use spaces that go beyond shopping and hybridize the traditional model.
Today, we not only consume products, but also use services and facilities that we do not always have at home. This trend has generated a new source of revenue, transforming the shopping center into a new type of destination space.

This prism of light acts as the "universal connector" between the theater and the casino. With a structure that links all levels of one building to the other, it houses the shared vertical core, which includes a panoramic elevator and an illuminated staircase, and opens onto Insa Street on the first floor through a new access facing the main road. This space plays a central role in resolving the functional dialogue between the two buildings, allowing them to function as a unified and fluid organism.

Elegant spaces accompanied by a color palette that gives them a unique character; within this atmosphere, the goal is to create a feeling of comfort for users through the harmonious combination of high-quality materials and spaces that reflect the distinctive identity of the Meliá Group.

We translate the values of excellence, innovation, and high performance into modern and inspiring spaces. Transparency between rooms characterizes the new offices, fostering a more connected work environment, without forgetting the specific needs of moments that require greater privacy.

Commercial space as a neighborhood experience. People want to be in places that represent who they are. As in every generation, new consumers seek change, but they have not lost their nostalgia for what they grew up with. Retail tends to look the same everywhere, while users increasingly demand spaces that reflect local character and respond to their needs through design.

At the heart of this project is a versatile space that naturally integrates the kitchen with an events area, designed to enhance both community and productivity. From the outset, we accompanied Digital Value in a strategic process of evaluating potential locations, ensuring that the chosen space not only met their current needs but also represented their vision for the future.

Building or designing spaces for communities involves understanding their context and unique characteristics. Our passion for in-depth analysis—both physical and demographic—combined with our knowledge of the memory and identity of a place and its community, allows us to find a guiding idea connected to that collective identity and create something meaningful for the people who make it up.

Cabana approaches this project through the concept of synergy. In this intervention, the mixed-use center is programmed as a connected whole, breaking down the elements into a porous layout where courtyards, scenes, corridors, terraces, and viewpoints flow into one another. Without losing sight of the objective, a new isotropic space emerges.

The materiality of the project is designed based on a strategy aimed at "suggesting and seducing" from a distance, deliberately avoiding any sense of domestic familiarity. The design proposes a more complex space, intended to stimulate and challenge visitors through bold and unconventional decisions.

A New Paradigm

Instead of focusing solely on attracting more visitors during peak hours, the New Retail model seeks to keep people in the mall longer by offering mixed-use spaces that go beyond shopping. Through the hybridization of the traditional model, shopping malls are reinventing themselves as multifunctional destinations.

Today, we don't just consume products—we also seek services and experiences that we don't always have at home. This change has opened up new avenues of revenue and transformed the shopping mall into a new social and experiential space.

Project Identity

This prism of light acts as a "universal connector" between the theater and the casino. It connects all levels of both buildings through a shared vertical core that integrates a panoramic elevator and an illuminated staircase.

On the first floor, it opens onto Insa Street with a new entrance facing the main road.

More than just a connecting element, this space plays a key role in resolving the functional relationship between the two buildings, allowing them to operate as a unified and fluid whole.

Meant to Belong

Designing spaces for communities begins with understanding their context and unique character. Our passion for in-depth analysis—both physical and demographic—coupled with sensitivity to collective memory and place identity, allows us to find a guiding idea rooted in that community.

This approach helps us create spaces that not only function well, but are also deeply meaningful to the people who inhabit them.

We design architecture with purpose, from bespoke residential projects to large-scale urban developments, rooted in place and shaped by people.

Hybridizing the model

Cabana approaches this project from a perspective of synergy. This mixed-use center is conceived as an interconnected whole, dissolving traditional boundaries through a porous layout where courtyards, stages, corridors, terraces, and viewpoints flow continuously. Without losing sight of the main objective, a new isotropic space emerges that invites movement, interaction, and multiplicity.

The future of work

At the heart of this project is a flexible space that combines a communal kitchen with an events area, designed to foster both collaboration and productivity. From the outset, we supported Digital Value in a strategic site selection process, ensuring that the chosen space met their current needs while also reflecting their vision for the future.

Local Story

Commercial spaces as a neighborhood experience. People want to be in places that represent them. As in every generation, new consumers are looking for change, but they haven't lost their nostalgia for what they grew up with. While many commercial spaces tend to look the same in any city, users are increasingly demanding environments that reflect local character and respond to their needs through design.

The New Retail model aims to encourage visitors to spend more time in the shopping center by offering mixed-use spaces that go beyond traditional shopping.

Retail is evolving toward spaces that cultivate emotional connections and community—places where users feel truly recognized and included.

In our process, we place special emphasis on analyzing the existing strengths of the asset. At the same time, we conduct a thorough study of the surrounding context and the complex dynamics of the community it serves.

We proactively prioritize the most impactful interventions and provide our clients with both a comprehensive overview of the project and a phased implementation strategy. This Roadmap is designed to align with the workflows and timelines of our professional clients, ensuring clarity and adaptability throughout the process.

Emotional Journey

The Journey is more than a hotel—it is an open and flexible space that connects guests with their surroundings. Through permeable common areas and a strong relationship with public space, it invites guests to travel without haste, connect with the local community, and experience hospitality as a shared and constantly evolving experience.

Cultural Values

We translate values such as excellence, innovation, and high performance into contemporary and inspiring spaces.

Transparency between different areas defines the new offices, promoting a more connected working environment—without forgetting the need for privacy at certain times.

Valuing the Family

The materiality of the project follows a conscious strategy of "suggesting and seducing" from a distance, deliberately avoiding any domestic feel. The design proposes a more complex and provocative space, designed to challenge and stimulate visitors through bold and unconventional gestures.

This light-filled prism connects the theater and casino, linking all levels through a shared vertical core that incorporates a panoramic elevator and an illuminated staircase.
